Certified Mediation Advocacy Skills Training (CMAST)

Certified Mediation Advocacy Skills training (CMAST) is a practice toolkit for effective mediation representation and strategic dispute resolution. It is designed for lawyers, corporate executives, business owners, and individuals who want to understand how to maximize the use of mediation to achieve clear, practical, and commercially sensible outcomes.

Practice toolkit for effective mediation representation
Strategic problem-solving approach beyond general mediation awareness
Learn to prepare, participate, and represent in mediation
Navigate from commencement to settlement agreement
Identify objectives, frame issues, and communicate persuasively
Accredited participants use ASCMA(UK) post-nominal title

Unlike programmes that merely introduce mediation as an alternative to litigation, CMAST focuses on mediation as a strategic problem-solving process. Participants will learn how to identify objectives, prepare their case, frame issues constructively and communicate persuasively to difficult parties and other opponents.

Whether a participant is representing a client, acting for an organization, or personally involved in a dispute, the course provides the practical tools needed to engage the mediation process with confidence and purpose.

This programme is offered quarterly in collaboration with the Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates (SCMA) UK which accredits successful participants. Accredited participants may thereafter use the letters ASCMA(UK) after their names as a post-nominal title.
