Mrs. Yinka Kolade is a qualified lawyer working out of Pembroke Chambers, Lagos. She holds the LLB, MA & LLM degree from the Kingston Law School, Surrey, England. She also holds the MCIarb Lond(Fellow in view)and is a fellow of the Institute of Construction Arbitrators (Ficarb).
Mrs Kolade has over 42 years of experience as a Lawyer gained from diverse areas of corporate law ranging from Joint ventures, Entertainment, Construction environmental and telecommunications law.
She currently works as a transactional Lawyer alongside her mediation and Arbitration practice deploying her varied experience to help clients resolve their matters.
Mrs Kolade has a deep passion and commitment to the recognition and practice of alternative dispute resolution and has followed this through with her qualification(LLM Dispute resolution) and various international certifications in Mediation and Arbitration with Mediation being her most compelling practice.
Mrs Kolade is an internationally Certified Mediator of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, England (CEDR) since year 2004. She is also certified as a Trainer of Mediation Skills by CEDR. She is also accredited as a work place dispute resolver by CEDR and MTI of the United States. She is also certified by the board of the Standing conference of mediation advocates London (SCMA) as a Mediation Advocate. In addition she is a member of the International Ombudsman.
She is on the Panel of Neutrals of The Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse Nigeria, and was also on the Governing Board of the Abuja Multi Door Court house of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She is also on the panel of Neutrals of the Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and the first Mediator to be so engaged.
Mrs Kolade is a co-initiator of the Lagos and Abuja multi door court houses and was fully involved in the implementation and set up of these dispute resolving court connected centres deploying mediation as the main tool and done under the aegis of the Negotiation and conflict management group(NCMG).
Mrs Kolade has since 2004 been in active practice as a mediator mediating varied cases.
She was a member of the committee that reviewed the ADR laws of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.
She was engaged as a Consultant by the British Council under its J4A programme for capacity development and monitoring of its established Mediation centres.
She was also invited to attend a conference and training on Mediation and alternative dispute resolution methods by the International Law Institute Washington(The only nominee from Nigeria that year)
She is a member of Faculty of the Lagos state Multi Door Court house providing training and professional certification in Mediation. She is also involved with the Nigeria Institute of Management as a curriculum developer and scheme assessor in their capacity and Learning department.
She is a past Chairman of the Association of CEDR Accredited Mediators in Nigeria (ACAMON). She is also the Vice-Chairman of the Society of Construction Arbitrators.
She also currently acts as Mediation Consultant, and resource person at Conferences and presents papers on Mediation, Alternative Dispute Resolution and case Management.
